Abstract
A Research about the green synthesis of functional nanocomposite activated carbon nanoparticles (ACNPs) and titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2NPs) has been done. In this relation ACNPs was fabricated from commercial carbon black through top down method by using ultrasonic machine, whereas TiO2NPs was synthesized from Titanium (IV) chloride (TiCl4) employing Aloe vera water extract as an environmental friendly reducing agent. The aim of this research is to fabricate a useful functional nanocomposite with antibacterial and photocatalytic properties using natural resources of very cheap in cost through environmental benign in process. The results of this study showed that TiO2NPs of 547.7 nm in average size belongs to the best antibacterial properties towards Eschericia coli and Staphylococcus aureus also the best photocatalytic properties under UV light irradiation towards methyl orange molecules. In addition, the fabricated ACNPs@TiO2NPs composite generates the best antibacterial properties when it was treated with ultrasonic agitation of 40 KHz, 2x50 Watt 50oC, for 30 minutes during the fabrication process. While that, the same composite generates the best photocatalytic properties under UV light irradiation towards methyl orange when it was treated with the same ultrasonic for 30 minutes during the fabrication process. Ultimately it can be concluded that the functional composite of ACNPs@TiO2NPs has been successful synthesized through various time of ultrasonic agitation for 10 up to 30 minutes with the best antibacterial and photocatalytic properties occurred for 30 minutes ultrasonication process.
