Pengaruh pH Larutan Anolit terhadap Potensial Listrik pada Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) dalam Substrat Maltosa
ABSTRAK
Penelitian dari sel bahan bakar mikrobial (MFC) telah dilakukan dengan tujuan
menentukan (i) pengaruh pH larutan anolit terhadap potensial listrik pada baterai MFC (ii)
potensial listrik maksimum (iii) E0 dari maltosa sebagai substrat baterai MFC. Pengukuran
potensial listrik dilakukan pada variasi pH larutan anolit 4,0; 4,3; 4,6; 4,8; 5,0. Dari penelitian
ini dihasilkan potensial listrik maksimum setinggi 0,66 Volt pada pH larutan anolit 5,0. Hasil
penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin mendekati pH netral, maka potensial listrik yang
dihasilkan semakin tinggi. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan pH larutan anolit 4,0; 4,3; 4,6; 4,8; 5
dihasilkan potensial listrik berturut-turut setinggi 0,41 V; 0,44 V; 0,49 V; 0,53 V; 0,66 V.
Kemudian berdasarkan teori persamaan Nersnt diperoleh nilai E0maltosa pada baterai bahan
bakar mikrobial (Microbial Fuel Cell, MFC) adalah +1,7712 Volt.

ABSTRACT
Experimental study of the microbial fuel cell (MFC) has been conducted. The
objectives are determing (i) the effect of pH anolyte solution to electric potential on MFC
battery (ii) maximum electric potential, and (iii) E0 of maltose as MFC substrate. Electrical
potential measurements made on the variation of pH anolyte solution 4.0; 4.3; 4.6; 4.8; 5.0.
From this research produced the maximum electrical potential as high as 0.66 Volts at pH
anolyte solution is 5.0. The results of this study indicate that getting closer to neutral pH, then
the electric potential generated higher. This is evidenced by pH anolyte solution 4.0; 4.3; 4.6;
4.8; 5 was generated electric potential successively as high as 0.41 V; 0.44 V; 0.49 V; 0.53 V;
0.66 V. Then, based on the theory of Nernst equation E0maltosa value obtained on Microbial
Fuel Cell (MFC) is +1.7712 Volts.
