(Gallus domesticus Linn.) Setelah Pemberian Tepung Daun Kelor (Moringa
oleifera Lam.) Sebagai Imbuhan Pakan. Di bawah bimbingan Sunarno dan
Kasiyati

ABSTRACT
Evi Lestari. 24020116130111. Visceral Organ Weights of Laying Hens (Gallus
domesticus Linn.) After Inclusion Moringa Leaf Flour (Moringa oleifera
Lam.) As Feed Addition. Under the guidance of Sunarno and Kasiyati
Moringa oleifera leaves contain dietary fiber, bioactive compounds and a variety
of essential nutrients that function for the health and productivity of laying hens.
Based on the Moringa potential, a study aimed to analyzing adding of Moringa
leaf flour on the weight of the visceral organs including the heart, liver,
intestinum, spleen, pancreas, proventriculus, and ventriculus in male laying hens.
The variables measured were weighted heart, liver, intestinum, spleen, pancreas,
proventriculus, and ventriculus. The experimental design used a Completely
Randomized Design consisting of 5 treatments, including P0 (100% basal feed),
P1, P2, P3 and P4 respectively received Moringa leaf flour supplement 1%, 2%,
3%, and 4% with basal feed 99%, 98%, 97% and 96%, each treatment was
repeated 3 times. Data were analyzed by distribution pattern test and homogeneity
was continued by Anova with a significance of 95%. The results showed that the
addition of Moringa leaf flour did not significantly affect (P>0,05) the increase in
the size of heart, liver, intestinum, spleen, pancreas, proventriculus, and
ventriculus. The conclusion of the study is the addition of Moringa leaf flour can
not increase the size of heart, liver, intestinum, spleen, pancreas, proventriculus,
and ventriculus in laying hens. The content of secondary metabolites in Moringa
leaf flour did not affect the process of digestion, absorption, and cellular
metabolism so that there were no increase in performance and weight of visceral
organs.
